SEO is one of the main factor in digital marketing field. Before learning about SEO, we have to know about the history of the famous search engine Google. In the beginning, Google was a university project of few Students, and the project was published as a subdomain of their university. After that, those students who developed Google project, rejoined and made that project as a public search engine. On those days, they were unable to get enough reach for their Search Engine, because the other search engines like yahoo were much popular in that time.

Then after the world trade center attack on 11th September 2001, people using google, used to search about world trade center accident, but the google was unable to provide enough result for their search. After that incident, Google arranged a meeting to solve this problem. After that meeting, Google recognized that, Google was unable to crawl the webpages properly to give enough result for the people who use Google search engine.

And the solution founded by Google was to optimize webpages. For that, Google introduced SEO. And google published few documents about SEO. After that, web mangers used that SEO technic wisely to make maximum reach for their websites.

On those days search engine was crawling websites depending upon the contents that are included in their websites that known as content specific or niche specific. Then webmasters misused that technic by using keyword that focused by the searching user more times in their websites, That is a non-ethical activity called Black Hat SEO technic. By that activity google crawled the websites which are mostly included that searching keywords and the webmasters used their time to add maximum contents in their websites and they were unable to maintain the quality of their websites.

Then Google changed the total algorithm of SEO from content specific to link specific. Link specific crawled the websites depending up on the maximum number of links recommends or redirects from other websites to their website. After that change, web managers concentrated in making maximum number of links from other websites to make maximum reach for their own websites, then after google introduced some other features to get reach for good websites.

From 2009, google introduced personalized search result which stores the previous search result of a user and provide suggestions depending upon their previous searches, when they search for next time. Then google changed their indexing depending upon the interaction and interest of users, for that, Google used pogo sticking technic to list the search result depending upon the interest of a user. And also introduced a feature to get indexed, depending upon the social media signals which get from other social media platforms.
